Colombia repeated the success from two years ago when they advanced to the gold medal encounter against Brazil in front of own crowd in Cali. And just like in 2017, Colombia will face the same rivals for the supremacy in the continent. In the semis, Colombia downed big title favorites Argentina in straight sets, partially 25-23, 25-21 and 25-19. The best scorers of the match were Dayana Segovia from the winning side and Daniela Bulaich from Argentina with 14 points each.
Brazil, who were gold or silver medalists in all of 33 editions of the tournament except one, will play for the 21st title. Driven by Drussyla Costa (18 points), the “Seleção” swept Peru by a 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-16).
The final between the two undefeated teams in the South American Championship (4-0 record each) Brazil and Colombia will take place this Monday (September 2) at 1 AM C.E.T.
