TUR W: Turkey claims home gold at Balkan Girls’ Champs

Turkey claimed a couple of days ago the 2013 edition of the Balkan Youth Girls’ Championship. The home heroines did so by winning also their last match where they edged Greece 3:2. Turkey and Greece delivered a great performance as they played for gold on the last day of the tournament held in Tekirdag and where the home side eventually had the upper hand after coming back from two sets down (3:2; 23-25, 16-25, 25-20, 25-15, and 16-14).

Serbia claimed bronze after edging their neighbors of Montenegro in straight sets (25-20, 25-9, and 25-10) in a classification match that was literally one-sided. Romania settled for fifth as they downed Bulgaria in three sets too (25-23, 25-19, and 25-18) while Moldova rounded out the final standing of the tournament finishing in seventh place.
