Fenerbahçe Opet have hired Brazilian female volleyball prodigy Ana Cristina de Souza ‘Aninha’ for the next season.
Fenerbahçe formed a duo of outside hitters for 2021/22 of, probably, the two most talented players in this position in the world.
After signing Russian Arina Fedorovtseva, the ‘Yellow Angels’ brought Ana Cristina de Souza ‘Aninha’. A 17-year-old Brazilian prospect first drew attention with her successful performance in youth categories. At the 2018 FIVB U18 South American Championship and the 2019 FIVB U18 World Championship, Aninha won the Best Opposite Spiker and Best Spiker awards.
Last season, she was selected as the Best Spiker of the Brazilian League with her successful play in Sesc RJ Flamengo in which she was the top scorer in the competition of the two Brazil National Team members Lorenne and Drussyla.
Aninha is a daughter of a former ‘Seleção’ volleyball player Cecília ‘Ciça’ and basketball player Alex Souza.
