Legendary Turkish libero, who spent the last 14 years playing for Eczacibasi VitrA, annonced her decision via her official Instagram account.
“I would like to announce that today, which I believe it’s the right time to do so, I end my professional volleyball career that started in 2002. I feel proud of sweating Ezcacıbası jersey for 14 years continuously and ending my career in this club. I am so thankful to Eczacıbası management and employees, to everyone in the Turkish national team, to all of my coaches, team managers, to all the staff and my teammates that I have worked with during my career and who made me happy and peaceful during this 14-year period. Also special thanks to my dear husband and family for supporting me through all those tough times in my career,” wrote Gulden on her Instagram account.
During her long and rich volleyball career Gulden has won plenty of trophies including 2 FIVB Club World Championships, 1 CEV Champions League, 4 Turkish Championships, 2 Turkish Cups, 2 Turkish Supercups…
It was a pleasure and a privilege watching her play the beautiful game of volleyball.
