USA Volleyball has announced the appointment of John Speraw as its new President and CEO, effective October 1. Speraw, who has been the head coach of the U.S. Men’s National Team since 2013, brings nearly two decades of leadership experience within the organization. His extensive background positions him as a key figure to guide USA Volleyball forward, particularly as it gears up for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Reflecting on his journey, which began in 1997 as an assistant coach, Speraw expressed gratitude and excitement for this new chapter. “To now be entrusted with the opportunity to lead USA Volleyball as president and CEO is both a profound honor and deeply humbling,” he said.
Speraw’s appointment follows an extensive six-month search led by USA Volleyball’s Board of Directors. Board Chair Dave Gentile highlighted Speraw’s expertise, leadership, and vision for the future of the sport, calling him the perfect fit to lead the organization through its next phase of growth.
In addition to his role with USA Volleyball, Speraw has been the head coach of UCLA’s men’s volleyball team, leading them to back-to-back NCAA titles in 2023 and 2024.
