Despite being underdogs in the finals, the players from Ohio State swept top-seeded Brigham Young University (BYU) Cougars in straight sets, partially 32-30, 25-23, 25-17, to secure the second college championship title in their history.
The four Buckeyes’ players recorded double-digits points in finals, topped by the MVP Miles Johnson – 18 points. In the losing team, Brenden Sander, the brother of Taylor Sander, a former BYU’s graduate (2011-2014) and member of US National Team, had 18 points as well.
