RIO 2016 M: Speraw – “We survived things when they weren’t looking good”

The USA men’s volleyball team came to Rio as one of the top favorites for winning the gold, however their path toward the quarterfinals was not easy…



Americans lost the opening two games at the tournament! Still, they managed to find the right rhythm in the last possible moment and to take a ticket for the knockout stage.

John Speraw, Coach of USA:

“I am really happy to get this win and move on to the quarterfinals, when early on in this tournament it looked like it was going to be a difficult challenge. We survived and persevered when things weren’t really looking good. We’re proud of the team for the way they have grown in the course of this tournament.”
