The management of the German Women’s Volleyball Championship titleholders Allianz MTV Stuttgart busily works on composing the squad for the next season.

After winning their first-ever German title, Stuttgart are very active in the volleyball transfer market. So far, they engaged six newcomers.

Probably the biggest name of the arrivals in the Bundesliga champion’s roster is Sweden national team member Alexandra Lazić.  A 24-year-old outside hitter with Serbian roots has already been the French champions three times (Cannes) and Swiss champion one time (former Volero Zürich). Lazić spent the last season playing in Turkey, in Nilüfer Belediyesi.

In addition to Lazić, Stuttgart acquired two more outside hitters: a 21-year-old Belgian Celine van Gestel from the Belgian champions Asterix Avo Beveren and 25-year-old player from Trinidad and Tobago – Channon Thompson – from Stuttgart’s rivals in Bundesliga, Rote Raben Vilsbiburg.

The two middle blockers also came to Stuttgart: Croatian Martina Šamadan (Unet E-Work Busto Arsizio, Italy) and Dutch Juliët Lohuis (USC Münster), as well as the setter Kathleen Weiß (Maritza Plovdiv, Bulgaria) who returned to competing in the German league after 15 years.
