A 33-year-old Cuban player Kenia Carcaces extended the deal with Casalmaggiore for one more season, the Italian top division club informed. The ex-Cuba national team member, with whom she competed in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and won the Pan American Games and NORCECA Championship once each, came to Casalmaggiore as the last reinforcement last season.
Carcaces, one-time South American Club Championship and Cuban Championship winner, as well as one-time South American Club Championship MVP and two-time FIVB Club World Championship Best Outside Hitter, will have a new team manager in Casalmaggiore in the 2019/20.
Former Romanian opposite hitter, and a member of Casalmaggiore in the 2016/17, which was her last season as an active player, Carmen Țurlea, joined the managerial staff of the club. A 44-year-old Romanian won the Italian Championship title twice and Italian Cup and CEV Cup once each, being named MVP and Best Scorer in the latter tournament (2010).
