Alexander Volkov has taken on a new role as the head coach of Belogorie Belgorod. Over the past three seasons, he played for Zenit Kazan, where he achieved remarkable success, including winning the Russian Cup last season and securing the national championship title.
Volkov steps into the position previously held by Boris Kolchin, becoming his successor. Due to health reasons, Kolchin had been absent from Belogorie matches since March, with assistant coach Sergei Brusentsev leading the team in his absence. Despite the challenges, the Belgorod team secured a commendable 5th place in the Russian regular season and maintained their position after the playoffs.
