Rana Verona Volley announced the arrival of Nikola Jovović, a highly experienced setter, joining their ranks. Jovović, who was most recently a part of Russian team Dynamo-LO, is no stranger to the Italian SuperLega. The Serbian international has previously played for Vero Volley Monza from 2014 to 2017.

The 1992-born athlete expressed his excitement at the prospect of returning to Italy’s top-tier championship. “The moment Rana Verona approached me, I instantly accepted their proposal. I am familiar with the competitive nature of the SuperLega from my previous stint. Returning to Italy is an excellent opportunity for me to utilize the invaluable experiences I’ve gathered over the years, and I’m eager to contribute to the ambitious Verona Volley project,” shared Jovović.

Jovović brings with him a rich tapestry of achievements from his time with the Serbian national team, including bronze medals at the European Championships in 2013 and 2017, a championship title in 2019, and World League silver in 2015, followed by a gold medal in 2016. His individual accolades include the Best Setter at the Under-19 European Championship in 2009 and the Fair Play Award at the European Championship in 2013. At a club level, Jovović has twice won the German Cup with Friedrichshafen and the Serbian Cup with Vojvodina.

Rana Verona’s Sports Director, Gian Andrea Marchesi, expressed satisfaction with the new addition to the squad. “We were in need of an experienced setter, and Jovović perfectly fits the profile. With his remarkable career at both the Club and National level and his familiarity with the Italian championship, I am certain that Nikola will make a significant contribution to the Rana Verona project. We extend a warm welcome to him,” said Marchesi
