Esmaeilnezhad spent the previous season with the Pas Gorgan team, earning the title of ‘best opposite’ in the Iranian Superlega. This achievement mirrored his accolade from 2022 when he played in his home country’s top championship for Shahdab Yazd. Before these commendable performances, he represented Saipa Tehran for two seasons and earlier defended the colors of Paykan Tehran. With his national team, Esmaeilnezhad claimed the gold medal at the 2021 Asian Championships and won the U23 Asian Championships in 2017. Currently, he is making a mark in the VNL 2023.

The newly recruited player is buzzing with excitement about joining one of the world’s most competitive leagues. “Receiving a call from Rana Verona was a dream come true. The Italian SuperLega is every volleyball player’s dream destination, and I did not hesitate to accept the offer,” said Esmaeilnezhad. “Verona’s project is highly ambitious, as evidenced by their last season’s results. This marks my first experience outside Iran, a unique opportunity that I intend to make the most of. I am prepared to put in the hard work necessary to achieve all the set goals. I can’t wait to wear this jersey and meet the Verona fans!”
