At the end of December, Guillermo Naranjo Hernández’s departure from Galatasaray was announced by Turkish media. Shortly after, the Spanish coach was appointed as the head coach of Romanian club CSM Volei Alba-Blaj, marking a quick transition to a new role.

Naranjo replaces Marco Musso, who was dismissed on December 30 following a series of disappointing performances in Romania’s Division A1. The Romanian club welcomed Naranjo with enthusiasm, citing his extensive experience, including leading the Romanian national women’s volleyball team and successful stints with clubs in Germany, Poland, and Turkey.
