Cucine Lube Civitanova’s projected starter this season, the Brazilian Men’s Volleyball National Team member, Isac Santos, came to the club not well recovered.
Isac, the player who was to replace Robertlandy Simón in Lube, isn’t ready to play. The Brazilian middle blocker returned to his homeland to treat persistent back pain with his personal doctor. Lube’s sports director, Giuseppe Cormio, said that after the hiring of Isac and his arrival in Civitanova, for a month they tried to solve the physical problems of the player, but they’re not yet in a position to register him and, consequently, Isac can’t take the field. By mutual agreement, the decision was made that the four-time Best Middle Blocker of the South American Club Championship returns to Brazil, where he’ll follow special therapy with a trusted orthopedist. Lube hope for his full recovery as soon as possible.
One more reason why the reigning SuperLega champions opted not to register a 31-year-old Brazilian at the moment while he’s unavailable to play is that the registration would involve the loss of a visa for a non-EU player.
