Perugia are unstoppable. Not even Itas Trentino, the runners-up, have managed to slow them down. Andrea Anastasi’s team earned its eighth victory out of eight games played and won a maximum number of points (24). And, which is very promising to their fans, Perugia included wins over most of their direct opponents for the title in the 2022–23 SuperLega Credem Banca in the mentioned winning streak, such as today’s rival.

In accordance with their nickname – the ‘Block Devils’ – the vice-champions established supremacy over Trentino in the block: 17 against only six of the opposing side. Cuban-Polish Wilfredo León and Brazilian Flávio Gualberto stood out the most in this segment with 5 stuffs apiece. The former was the game’s top scorer (20 points). Daniele Lavia (19 points; 4 aces) tried to compensate for the fired blanks of Matey Kaziyski as the Bulgarian veteran was, unlike all previous games in the season, very much ‘invisible’.
