In today’s opening match of Pool 3 in the Volleyball Nations League, Turkey faced off against Canada in an exciting clash. Coached by Santarelli, the Turkish team bounced back impressively after a heavy defeat against Poland just 24 hours earlier. The game concluded with a convincing 3-0 victory for Turkey.

Melissa Vargas, the attacking powerhouse of the Turkish team, put on another impressive performance as the top scorer, contributing 17 points to the victory. Vargas’ performance was matched by Alexa Gray from the Canadian side, who also delivered 17 points. Adding to the Turkish attack was Ebrar Karakurt who pitched in with an additional 14 points, further bolstering the team’s offensive strength.

For Canada, alongside Gray’s stellar performance, Kiera Van Ryk provided valuable support by contributing 10 points. Despite these efforts, the Canadian team was unable to counter the strong Turkish attack and ultimately fell short.
