In a thrilling day of volleyball at the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) 2023, USA, Brazil, and Japan emerged victorious in their respective games against Thailand, Serbia, and Korea.

The United States, unbroken in their streak, claimed their sixth victory by defeating Thailand in a clean sweep of 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-16). Jordan Thompson led the scoreboard with 15 points while Haleigh Washington and Kathryn Plummer followed suit, contributing 11 and 10 points respectively. Chatchu-On Mokrsi and Ajcharaporn Kongyot put up a solid fight for Thailand, scoring 13 and 10 points.

In the following clash, Japan registered their fourth victory by overpowering Korea 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-19). Arisa Inoue was Japan’s top scorer with 12 points, closely trailed by teammates Mayu Ishikawa and Nichika Yamada who scored 11 points each. On the Korean side, Jeon Jiyun topped the charts with 8 points.

The most intense match of the day saw host Brazil battling Serbia in a five-set thriller, eventually claiming victory with a scoreline of 3-2 (23-25, 25-22, 21-25, 25-12, 15-11). Thaisa Menezes led the game with 18 points for Brazil, assisted by Kisy Nascimento’s 16 points. For Serbia, Aleksandra Uzelac topped the tally with 17 points, followed by Jovana Stevanovic and Sara Lozo, each adding 13 points to the team’s score.
