Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, the reigning champions of the 2023 Champions League, have made an official announcement stating that they will not be participating in the upcoming World Club Championship scheduled to take place in India in December. Despite receiving an invitation to the prestigious tournament, the club has cited a packed schedule in the pre-Olympic season and concerns over the risks associated with traveling to India during the competitive period as the reasons for their decision.
The World Club Championship is slated to be held from December 6th to 10th. Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle was one of the six teams invited to compete, having earned their spot as the winners of the 2023 Champions League. The other teams on the invitation list include Jastrzębski Węgiel (Champions League finalist), Sada Cruzeiro (South American champion 2022/2023), Minas Tenis Clube (South American runner-up 2022/2023), Suntory Sunbirds Club (Asian champion 2022/2023), and Ahmedabad Defenders (tournament hosts).
