Dentil/Praia Clube beat Itambé/Minas at home in Uberlândia to win the 2019 Supercopa, one week before the start of the national championship.
The team coached by Paulo Coco swept current Superliga and Cup winners in straight sets, partially 25-22, 25-22 and 25-19, despite being deprived of the help from an injured trio of starters – the opposite hitter Monique, middle blocker Carol and libero Suelen. Minas also could not count on all of their forces in the match. Venezuelan outside hitter Acosta was absent due to the right calf injury.
Praia outside hitter, a newcomer from Fluminense, Priscila Daroit “Pri Daroit“ was the top scorer of the encounter, with 14 points. On the side, the middle blocker Caroline Gattaz “Carol Gattaz“ scored 13 points.
The Men’s Super Cup between Superliga champions EMS Taubaté Funvic and Cup winners Sada Cruzeiro will be played in Uberlândia as well, on November 7.
