After 10 years from the foundation and of competing in the country’s top division, Brazil’s Sesi will play one season with the roster consisting solely of players from their basic categories. With the exception of one player. The reason for this is financials about which we wrote earlier.

The São Paulo side has officially appointed Marcelo Negrã as the head coach. He’s the youngest of the “golden generation“ of the Brazil National Team at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games and has already been working with the under-19 category of the club.

The good news for the Sesi fans is that a pillar of the team and its member since the founding, Murilo Endres, remained. Interestingly, the nephew of the two-time world champion will be a part of the Sesi roster, too: the 20-year-old outside hitter Eric Endres, who has been already integrated into the senior team in several games last season.

The Sesi 2020/21 roster:

Setters: Caio Nobre, Ryan Azevedo

Opposite hitter: Darlan Souza

Middle blockers:  Leonardo Andrade, Marcos Paulo Cerqueira, Vinicius Elias

Outside hitters: Alan Maciel, Eric Endres, Nathan Krupp, Marcus Vinicius

Liberos: Murilo Endres, Matheus Procópio

Head coach: Marcelo Negrão.
