Apart from announcing the lineup and calendar of the Champions League, the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) also revealed the formula of the two other club competitions under its jurisdiction.

The CEV has given details of its premier club competition, the Champions League, yesterday. What they also revealed the same day was the formula of the second and third-tier - the CEV Cup and the Challenge Cup.

The 2021 edition of the CEV Cup will feature 32 clubs per gender that are to be drawn for the 16th finals, which will include the losers from the early stages of the Champions League and clubs that applied to the competition from the Challenge Cup. Each round, starting from the 16th finals, will be played in the home and away match format.

As for the Challenge Cup, the first round will differ for men and women. The men’s competition will get underway with a pre-16th finals round in which a single second-round doubleheader is to be played due to the fact that 33 clubs signed up. This round is to be followed by the 16th finals. Women will set off with the 16th finals with 27 participants out of which five will get a bye. Each round will consist of home and away matches.

ITALIAN CUP M: Verona and Piacenza disappoint once again

Piacenza will not have a good year with Hierrezuelo setting. He arrived unprepared and cannot set the front pin hitters and bic at all. Cleverly and Russell have no idea where those sets are going to be. The libero Scanferla is young and the staff is asking him to pass too much of the court.
Gardini is not leading this team in the right direction. Look for another setter quickly. Heck try Shaw there at this point.
Talent is wasting here.
