The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) will give the second chance to the Thailand Women’s National Team in regard to testing of its members for Covid-19 and, subsequently, in regard to participating in the VNL 2021.

The FIVB hasn’t eliminated the Thailand Women’s National Team from the 2021 Volleyball Nations League even though the federation from Asia decided to withdraw the team from the event due to as many as 22 positive cases of Covid-19 at players and staff members.

The Thai federation (TVA) had communicated its decision to the FIVB who has then changed its regulation for the VNL (only national teams with negative tests of its member for Covid-19 prior to announcing lists of players are eligible to compete) in favor of Thailand Women. The FIVB informed TVA that the fact a Covid-19 infection was detected among its members doesn’t necessarily mean they are actually positive for the virus because they received the first dose of the vaccine on April 29. In such circumstances, positive blood results might occur as the body needs more time to produce antibodies. So, the FIVB gave additional 2-3 days to TVA to repeat testing and provide results.

The Thailand NT members are to receive the second dose of vaccine on May 14 – 6 days before scheduled departure to Rimini, Italy, to the VNL.

GRE W: Suspended Korean player Lee Da-Yeong going to play in Greece

Excited to see Dayeong venture out to an overseas league to grow as a player! Since the Greece league is weaker than the Korean league, it'll be an opportunity to see if she can step up to the plate to lead her team as a setter, while also showing herself to other leagues for future seasons.

The twins were indefinitely suspended after the accusations made towards them about what they did back during elementary school, but they're currently in the midst of a court investigation process to prove that most of the accusations made against them were false (they acknowledged some of them and had apologized immediately & publicly for those).
Once that is resolved - hopefully soon, she should have no issues going abroad.

Heard rumours that PAOK is also looking for a foreign OH, and is looking at signing her twin sister Jaeyeong together with her as a package.
I sure hope that is true and will come to pass as well! Will be additionally fun seeing them play together, and they can rely on one another in a new foreign environment. Reply

VNL W: Preliminary stage over - China put end to USA’s invincibility, 6 players say farewell to Thailand National Team

Bless the Thai players. They share much blood, sweat and tears, many tears. They were robbed of an Olympic birth from an incompetent ref that will haunt them for the rest of their life. Reply
