In Game 2 of Superliga Grand Prix final at the „Philsports Arena“ in Pasig, top-seeded Foton downed No. 2 Petron Blaze Spikers 3-1 (25-20, 25-20, 22-25, 25-17) to claim their second national championship title.
U.S. import Ariel Usher scored 19 points for the Tornadoes, who took the series opener in five sets after being 0-2 down, while another American, Lindsay Stalzer, added 14. U.S. international Stephanie Niemer led Spikers with 31 points.
As winners of the Grand Prix, Foton will represent the Philippines in the 2017 Asian Women’s Volleyball Club Championship in Kazakhstan.
