WCH 2018 M: Australia and Japan confident at start of Asian Qualifiers

Australia and Japan successfully opened their campaigns in the Asian Qualifiers - Final Round for the 2018 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship in Italy and Bulgaria.

In one of the two pools of the Asian Qualification Tournament for the World Championship (Pool B), in Canberra, Australia, the host national team beat New Zealand in straight sets, partially 25-12, 25-18, 25-18.

In the other match of Day 1 in Pool B, Japan smashed Chinese Taipei with a clear win 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-19).

Thailand, the fifth member of the pool, will make their debut in the Tournament on July 13 against Australia.

Pool A in Ardabil, Iran (Korea, China, Iran, Kazakhstan and Qatar), sets off on August 10.

The two best ranked teams from each pool will secure their berth in the World Champs.
