Eight teams have found their way to the all-important finals to be played on Saturday in Doha’s Aspire Zone. The English Bello brothers showed incredible resilience as they came from the playoffs to fight for the crown tomorrow. Katja Stam and Wies Bekhuis performed perfectly to set themselves up for another Queen’s title, as they have already four between them. Join us Saturday afternoon to find out who will become the Queens and Kings of Doha 2024.

Katja Stam and Wies Bekhuis were the first to claim their spot in tomorrow’s final, winning their Group Stage match by getting fifteen points before the time was up. They set the longest stay as well, they are a real force to be reckoned with. Biggest upset was the fact that Raïsa Schoon and Daniela Álvarez didn’t make it out of the playoffs.

Two internationally paired teams reached the final on the women’s side, the French-German connection of Lézana Placette and Sandra Ittlinger as well as Latvia’s Anastasija Samoilova and Poland’s Aleksandra Wachowicz. The fifth and final team to join are USA’s Corinne Quiggle, who plays her first tournament after getting back from hip surgery, and Chloe Loreen. Cinja Tillmann and Svenja Müller reached the final already on Thursday.

Bellos started low, ended on a high
Twin brothers Joaquin and Javier Bello had a rollercoaster of a day. They only managed to score one point in their Group Stage match, which saw them through to the playoffs. There, they scored a whopping fifteen points in a row and secured a place in the semifinal. In the first round of the semifinal they blew the competition away and made their way to the final, earning the admiration of the young fans in the stadium.

Latvia’s Edgars Točs and Martins Plavins went straight to the final by winning their Group Stage match. They are joined by France’s Calvin Aye and Rémi Bassereau and Dutchies Stefan Boermans and Yorick de Groot. Clemens Wickler and Nils Ehlers had today off, as they won Thursday’s Group Stage match.
