The second seed Thunders failed to provide the same resistance to the No.1 seed Panthers in Game 2 of the 2018-19 V.League Division 1 final the as they did in Game 1 (2-3). Thus, the Japanese championship won’t change its owners as the Panthers won the back-to-back title by beating the Hiroshima side in straight sets at the Musashino-no-mori Sports Plaza in Chōfu, partially 26-24, 25-20, 25-20. For this, the Panthers players will be awarded by the V.League with ¥ 15 million which is about € 118,000.
Pole Michał Kubiak was the best scorer of Game 2 with 23 points and earned the MVP of the Championship award for the second season in a row. The Chinese international Liu Libin noted 12 points for the Thunders.
