Polish national team outside hitter Aleksander Śliwka has been ruled out of the third week of the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) in Gdańsk due to a right foot injury sustained during Tuesday’s training.
Śliwka landed awkwardly after a collision with a teammate, injuring his ankle. He was taken to a Gdańsk hospital where tests confirmed no fracture, though soft tissue damage remains a concern. He has since returned to the team hotel.
The Polish Volleyball Federation has confirmed in a statement that Śliwka will not participate in the upcoming matches against Iran, Cuba, Bulgaria, and France. Poland currently ranks second in the VNL standings.
