Former Polish Men’s National Team member, with whom he won gold medal in the 2012 FIVB World League, and also a three-time consecutive CEV Champions League winner (all with Diatec Trentino, 2009-2011), started his third season with Sarmayeh Bank of Iran as he extended the contract. Already at the beginning of the 2017/2018 season, he won a trophy – in the 2017 Asian Club Championship. Not only this. Żygadło was awarded MVP and Best Setter of the tournament.
“I had offers from several European clubs, but I can’t reveal the names of those clubs. I even got called to play with the Polish National Team but I preferred to be here and compete in the Asian Club Championship with Sarmayeh Bank,” a 37-year-old setter said to our correspondent from Iran.
The finals of the 2017 Asian Club Championship was the last game with Sarmayeh for one of Żygadło’s teammates, Milad Ebadipour as he joined PGE Skra Bełchatów from Poland. It is one of many Żygadło’s ex-clubs, where he played in 2002/2003.
“When I renewed the contract with Sarmayeh Bank I noticed that Milad is going to join Skra. From organizational point and facilities, it is a good club. Management of the club has hired a great player,” veteran player stated.
