Baku, Azerbaijan, January 19, 2012. The captain of Azerrail BAKU, Oksana Parkhomenko, will be out for 6 up to 9 months after she suffered an injury to her knee ligaments during the last match played for the prelims of the 2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League against 2004 Tomis CONSTANTA of Romania.
Parkhomenko out for the remainder of the season
The player was already operated yesterday in Azerbaijan’s capital city.
This means the 27-year old setter will be missing the deciding phase of the competition and will return to the court only next fall.
It is not yet known if the club will sign another player to take over the duty; Parkhomenko is also the regular setter of Azerbaijan’s national team.
