The first set was very close. Brazil’s superior blocking put them 8-6 ahead. But the Poles got back on track with some good counter attacks, and eventually, after some thrilling exchanges, the Europeans took the set 26-24.

The second set started was also tight. Poland went to the first technical timeout three points ahead (8-5), and kept the lead with some good attacks (14-10). A good serving sequence from wing spiker Ricardo Lucarelli put Brazil back in the match, (18-17) but Poland clung on to their narrow lead, taking the set 28-26.

Thanks to a good serving sequence from wing spiker Maurício Silva, Brazil went to the first technical timeout two points ahead in set three (8-6). But with an ace from wing spiker Dawid Konarski, Poland tied the set (15-15). And the Europeans took the lead, then cemented the victory, 25-21, to seal the match.

Rafal Buszek was the match’s top scorer with 15 points. Ricardo Lucarelli was the leading scorer for Brazil, with 13 points.

shame on Brazil, Poland flied to Brazil with no stars; Wlazły, Winiarski, Kurek, Zagumny, Zatorski or Nowakowski stayed at home to prepare for next round in Italy. what’s wrong with this team?!

Brazil has some players with less experience. And also their supremacy finally came to an end. Now they are just like any other team… Russia unfortunatelly rules now!
