African Nations Championship M: Powerhouses Clash – Giants Stumble, Semifinal Pairs Set

by WoV

The curtains have been drawn on the quarterfinal matches of the CAVB African Nations Championship, paving the way for the electrifying semifinal clashes.

In what was termed as a clash of the titans, Cameroon demonstrated prowess by besting Tunisia with a flawless 3-0 victory. This stunning outcome means Tunisia, a behemoth in the realm of African volleyball, will not vie for a medal this time around.

Equally gripping was the face-off between the hosting nation, Egypt, and another African giant, Morocco. With the stakes higher than ever, Egypt emerged triumphant with a clean 3-0 slate. Despite Morocco parading volleyball luminaries like Mohammed Al Hachdadi and Zouheir El-Graoui, their dreams of clinching a medal and sealing a direct berth to the world championship were dashed.

The competition’s intensity didn’t wane in the other matches either. Algeria showcased their might by defeating Rwanda in three straight sets, while Libya mirrored this feat against Chad.

The stage is now set for the semifinals: Egypt will go head-to-head with Cameroon, and in a parallel showdown, Algeria will tackle Libya.
