Argentina recovered from a temporary 1-2 deficit to win in five sets against Cuba. This was the first match for the South American team after a day off in the opening date of the FIVB Boys’ U19 World Championship in Pool B. The team coached by Julian Alvarez had a key moment on the fourth set to establish the conditions to decide the fate of the game.

This was the first match for the South American team after a day off in the opening date of the FIVB Boys’ U19 World Championship in Pool B. The team coached by Julian Alvarez had a key moment on the fourth set to establish the conditions to decide the fate of the game.

Nicolas Lazo recorded 19 points for Argentina to be the best scorer. Bruno Lima and Brian Melgarejo finished with 12 apiece while Gaston Fernandez tallied 10.

On the Cubam side Osmani Uriarte ended with 18, Osniel Rendon scored 13 and Yohan Leon 10.

For Cuba this was the second loss of the tournament after opening with a defeat against Turkey, that is 1-1 after losing against Japan in the first match of day 2 at Mexicali State Auditorium.
