Personal-Bolivar
Thanks to 27 points from the Bulgarian Rozalin Penchev, the defending champions Personal Bolívar escaped Ciudad Vóley after trailing 2-1 in sets – 3-2 (25-21, 23-25, 23-25, 25-16, 15-10) in Weekend 12 (the final weekend) of the regular stage. Pablo Crer added 4 kill blocks. Bolívar was brilliant in reception as a team, making 73%. Their libero Alexis González stood out in this segment with 83% (24 digs, 2 errors). Santiago Darraidou and Ezequiel Palacios tallied 17 points apiece for Ciudad, while Joaquín Gallego added 5 kill blocks.
Bolívar now need to win their last game in the regular stage against UNTREF Vóley to secure No.1 for the playoffs.
Gigantes del Sur took the advantage of Ciudad’s defeat to stay in contention for No.4, which is the last spot in the standings securing the home court advantage in the playoffs. Gigantes beat UNTREF by a 3-0 with 16 points from Bruno Vinti and will face Ciudad in two days in a direct clash for the fourth place.
