Eleven nations participate in the women’s volleyball tournament: Hong Kong, Philippines, Japan, Indonesia and Thailand are in Pool A and Korea, China, Chinese Taipei, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, India in Pool B.
Korea came to defend their gold medal achieved on the previous edition of Asian Games in Incheon four years ago.
China as the World No.1 and Olympic gold winner came with one of their strongest teams ever with an goal to win the tournament.
This tournament will also be a good test for China, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea and Thailand in preparation for the upcoming FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship in Japan.

Chinese Taipei – Kazakhstan 1-3 (15-25,10-25,25-20,20-25)
Korea – India 3-0 (25-17,25-11,25-13)
