The champions Itambé/Minas recorded the fourth win in as many games in the 2019/20 Superliga Feminina regular season. The team from Belo Horizonte gained a two-set lead against Esporte Clube Pinheiros, allowed rivals to level, but carved out the victory in the tie-break: 3-2 (25-15, 25-17, 22-25, 22-25, 20-18). Caroline Gattaz “Carol Gattaz“ and Thaísa Menezes tallied 18 points apiece for Minas, both being on a high level in the block with 5 and 4 kill blocks, respectively. Saraelen Lima scored 23 points for Pinheiros.

After making her debut this season in Superliga three days ago, Tandara Caixeta was sidelined once again, this time due to tonsillitis. However, it didn’t disturb her teammates from Sesc RJ to sweep C.R. Flamengo and stay undefeated: 3-0 (25-21, 29-27, 25-14). Renata Colombo “Renatinha“ and Juciely Silva scored 17 points apiece, with the latter making as many as 8 kill blocks! Milka Marcília Silva was also amazing in this segment (6). With this win, Sesc skipped Dentil/Praia Clube (also unbeaten) in the charts and settled at the No.1.
