In a balanced game and with similar scores in all sets, Sesi beat Ribeirão in the tie-break and settled at the vice-leaders position in the charts of the 2019/20 Superliga Masculina regular season: 3-2 (25-18, 18-25, 25-18, 16-25, 15-12). Alan Souza tallied 18 points for Sesi, including 5 kill blocks, while Lucas Barreto made 9 kill blocks! Actually, Sesi players set up as many as 20 kill blocks combined. Rodrigo Silva and Caio Oliveiro scored 17 points apiece for the losing side. This was the 4th consecutive victory of the team from São Paulo that led them to the 2nd position in the standings, only 3 points behind the leaders Sada Cruzeiro.
Sesc RJ wrote down the 5th win in a row to come in 4th, while 3rd placed EMS Taubaté Funvic had no problems to outplay Ponta Grossa Vôlei. Vôlei Renata, who took “scalps” of, practically, all major title favorites in the first half of the season, surprisingly lost to APAN Blumenau.
