Some clubs in the Italian men’s volleyball Championship proposed the postponement of the start of the new season, given that it’s uncertain when their foreign players will join them. Lucarelli is one of those players.
It’s yet unknown when the presentation of the Brazil National Team member in Italy’s Itas Trentino will take place. The Rio Olympic champion, ex-EMS Taubaté Funvic player, still doesn’t know when he’ll travel to Italy.
“I have no prognosis of going yet. I couldn’t get my visa to Italy. The consulate is closed, things are tangled. For now, I’m waiting but I still don’t have a date to go,“ the 28-year-old outside hitter told Web Vôlei.
Due to the logistical stalemate, Trentino didn’t even officially hire Lucarelli, who agreed on a two-year contract. While waiting for a go-ahead, the Best Outside Spiker of the 2016 Olympic Games and the 2014 FIVB World Championship continues physical preparation.
