Minas secured their place in the best-of-3 playoff finals of 2020/21 Brazilian Women’s Superliga Banco do Brasil, which will be held in the bubble in Saquarema. There, they will face Dentil/Praia Clube, which will be the Clássico Mineiro (the classic of the Minas Gerias state).

After a relatively quiet victory in the first game of the semifinal series, Minas had much more problems in Game 2 to advance to the title decider: 3-2 (17-25, 25-22, 17-25, 25-17, 15-8). American Danielle Cuttino was the highest scorer in Minas with 22 points, while Thaísa Daher set up 5 blocks. Tifanny Abreu notched 24 points (4 blocks) for Bauru.

In the other semifinal, 3rd-seed Praia had eliminated no.2 Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde (3-0 in Game 2) and scheduled a replay of the 2018/19 finals with Minas. The first match between Minas Gerias rivals will be held next Friday.
