Even though it seemed that the regular-season vice-champions Osasco will set off 2020/21 Brazilian Women’s Superliga Banco do Brasil playoff semifinals with a win over 3rd-seed Praia, the things have turned around.
The club from the São Paulo state had a 2-1 in sets and superb Tandara Caixeta (finished the match with 34 points) but gave away the victory to rivals for which Dominican Brayelin Martínez scored 22 points and Ana Carolina Silva ‘Carol’ set up as many as 9 blocks! Partially, it was 25-21, 19-25, 18-25, 25-17, and 15-12.
The regular season winners Itambé/Minas confirmed favoritism against no.4 Sesi Vôlei Bauru at the start of the other semifinal and claimed a 4-set win. Thaísa Daher and Priscila Daroit ‘Pri Daroit’ shared the top-scorer ‘title’ in the Belo Horizonte club with 21 points apiece. Tifanny Abreu notched 22 points for Bauru.
