Sesi Bauru, the reigning national cup winners, lifted their second trophy in a week. The side from the São Paulo state took the 2022 Brazilian Women’s Super Cup (Supercopa Feminina) after overcoming the current three-time champions of the country, Minas, by 3 sets to 1 (partial 26-24, 19-25, 25-23, and 25-22) at home in Bauru and claimed the first-ever title in the competition.

The match marked the inauguration of the new hall for Sesi Bauru in which they’ll host their Superliga games this season. Marcos Kwiek, the head coach of the Dominican Republic Women’s National Team, made his re-debut at the helm of Sesi Bauru after five years.

The Sesi Bauru setter, Danielle Lins ‘Dani Lins’, was elected MVP. The opposite Kisy Nascimento from Minas was the highest scorer of the match with 20 points (7 blocks), and on the side of the winning team, who stood out was the veteran opposite, Ivna Colombo, with 19 points. This, by the way, is the second trophy raised by the Bauru side in a week: last Sunday, they surpassed Pinheiros and won their second state title.
