Unilife Maringá secured important victory in the Brazilian Women’s Volleyball Superliga, edging past Batavo Mackenzie 3-2 (13-25, 25-16, 20-25, 25-14, 15-10) in Belo Horizonte. The win keeps Maringá in eighth place with 17 points, just behind Mackenzie (19 points) in seventh.
Gabriela Cândido led Maringá with 18 points, while Francynne Jacintho, named MVP, added 17. Mackenzie’s top scorer was Gabriella Souza – Gabiru with 15 points.
Meanwhile, Dentil Praia Clube reclaimed the top spot after defeating Pinheiros 3-1 (23-25, 25-13, 27-25, 25-18) in Uberlândia. Russian outside hitter Sofya Kuznetsova dominated with 25 points, while Adenízia Silva contributed 16 and earned the VivaVôlei Trophy.
