Joinville took a important step toward the semifinals of the 2024/25 Brazilian Men’s Superliga by beating Vôlei Renata 3-2 in a thrilling match at Ginásio do Taquaral, Campinas. The game ended with set scores of 23-25, 25-16, 25-21, 12-25, and 15-13.
Rafael Araújo led Joinville with 26 points, sealing the win with a powerful ace and earning the VivaVôlei Trophy. Djalma Moreira added 17 points, and Felipe Brito contributed nine. Vôlei Renata’s Adriano Xavier and Bruno Lima scored 22 points each, while Judson Nunes stood out with 17.
The series continues on April 13, in Joinville. A win for the home team secures a semifinal spot. If Vôlei Renata evens the series, the decider will be played on April 17, back in Campinas.
In other playoff action, Sesi Bauru, Sada Cruzeiro, and Itambé Minas also took early series leads.
