Suzano, the 7th seed, pulled off a major upset in the 2024/25 Men’s Superliga by defeating 2nd-placed Itambé Minas 3-2 (25-20, 23-25, 17-25, 25-21, 15-10) in a thrilling quarterfinal decider at Arena UniBH, Belo Horizonte.

Led by coach Pedro Uehara, Suzano’s star duo—opposite Guilherme Sabino (23 points, 62% efficiency) and outside hitter Daniel Muniz (20 points, 56%)—delivered clutch performances. Sabino earned the VivaVôlei MVP award.
Itambé/Minas saw standout efforts from Aboubacar Dramé Neto – Abouba (21 points) and Wilian Gabriel Doardo (17), but costly errors returned to haunt them.
Next up, Suzano awaits Vôlei Renata or Joinville, who still need to play their deciding match in Campinas. Elsewhere, Sesi Bauru hosts Praia Clube, and the winner will face Sada Cruzeiro in the semifinals.
