Sesi Bauru is heading to its first-ever Superliga Feminina final since merging volleyball projects in the 2018/2019 season (merging Vôlei Bauru and SESI-SP)—and they did it in style.
In front of a roaring home crowd at Arena Paulo Skaf, the team delivered a powerful 3-0 win over Dentil/Praia Clube (25-20, 25-17, 29-27), sealing the semifinal series 2-0 and booking a spot in the playoff finals.
This was a true underdog moment. Entering the playoffs as the fifth seed, Sesi Bauru knocked out two top-tier teams—Fluminense and then Praia Clube, who were aiming for their seventh straight final.
Emotion ran high. Setter Danielle Dani Lins, recently sidelined for a thyroid biopsy, returned to the court and was named best player of the match. Teammates Bruna Moraes and Kasiely Clemente scored 14 and 13 points respectively, while Mayany Souza dominated with eight blocks.
On Praia’s side, Sofya Kuznetsova was the top scorer with 18 points, but also made nine attack errors, reflecting the team’s off night. Key players like Adenízia Silva struggled, and the team’s 23 errors cost them dearly.
Now, Sesi Bauru awaits their final opponent, to be decided between Gerdau Minas and Osasco/São Cristóvão Saúde.
