In front of a buzzing crowd at Ginásio do Ibirapuera, Sada Cruzeiro staged a thrilling comeback to defeat Vôlei Renata 3 sets to 1 and clinch their ninth Superliga title—a record that cements their legacy as Brazilian volleyball royalty.
After dropping the first set 18-25, Cruzeiro found their rhythm and stormed back with three straight set wins (25-23, 25-23, 25-21). This latest triumph wraps up a flawless 2024/25 season that saw them lift five major trophies: Campeonato Mineiro, Supercopa, South American Championship, the Club World Championship, and now, the Superliga.
Veteran middle blocker Lucas Saatkamp – Lucão, at 39 years old, was the heart of the team—named MVP of both the final and the season. His performance was nothing short of dominant, with 14 points and unstoppable offensive play.
Despite a fiery start from Vôlei Renata, led by standout middle blocker Judson Nunes and opposite Bruno Lima, the Campinas squad couldn’t hold off Cruzeiro’s momentum. It was sweet revenge for Cruzeiro, who had lost to Renata earlier in the season.
With this win, Sada Cruzeiro closes the season with style, proving once again why they’re the team to beat in Brazilian volleyball.
