It is now obvious. Volleyball Arenas are just too small for Brazil. Football stadiums may be the solution…

Brazil men’s national team played two friendly games vs. Portugal and attracted around 75,000 fans in two days!!! In the first match played at Arena da Baixada in Curitiba there were 35,000 fans on the stands, while one day later the Estádio Nacional Mané Garrincha in Brasilia welcomed nearly 40,000 people.

Therefore, the Brazilian Volleyball Federation is considering to host World League 2017 home matches at a football stadium! According to globoesporte.globo.com, Arena da Baixada in Curitiba, with capacity of 42,000 seats, would be a perfect choice, but the Federation still need to consult the stadium owner FC Atletico Paranaense and, of course, the FIVB.

“It was wonderwul to play in front of 40,000 people. I want to thank everyone who came at the stadium and made this incredible party,” said Brazilian setter Bruno Rezende after the 2nd friendly match against Portugal.
