In the penultimate round of Superliga regular season, Cruzeiro outclassed Sesi in the re-edition of the national cup final with ease, 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-21) to secure the top-seed for the playoffs with 54 points (18-2). Although the match was valid for the penultimate round, due to the fact they competed in the 2018 South American Club Championship, Cruzeiro have to play two more matches in the regular season.

The Cuban Yoandy Leal from Cruzeiro scored game-high 14 points, of which 5 came from the service line. His teammate Filipe Ferraz topped him in aces by serving 6, recording 73% reception (22 digs, 2 errors).

By suffering a defeat, Sesi were surpassed by EMS Taubaté Funvic (47 points, 17-4) in the standings, falling to the fourth position with 46 points (16-5). Despite not finishing the match versus Corinthians-Guarulhos as the best scorer on his team, Otávio Pinto stood out in Taubaté by making 93% attack (13/14)! Felipe Lourenço, who replaced Sérgio Santos “Serginho” in the line-up of Corinthians, did a great job by recording 81% reception (16 digs).

A 3-1 (25-22, 16-25, 25-18, 25-21) loss of the second-placed Sesc-RJ to Vôlei Renata (Campinas) went into the favor of Cruzeiro. Thanks to this, the titleholders officially locked No.1. Diogo Silva, who was suspended in the previous two Superliga games, led Vôlei Renata to a win with 21 points. The Argentinean libero Facundo Santucci made 75% (12 digs, 2 errors), while Vinícius Siqueira added 4 kill blocks. Maurício Borges topped Sesc with 12 points. Renan Buiatti recorded 5 kill blocks.

When it comes to blocking, Flávio Gualberto from Minas Tênis Clube stood out in this round with 6 kill blocks. In terms of points scored, Fabrício Dias “Lorena” from Montes Claros Vôlei highlighted the round with 25 points.
