The German side managed to steal one set from the Turkish team, but that was everything they could make in this game: 3-1 (25-13, 20-25, 25-19, 25-17).

Lonneke Sloetjes was the best scorer of the game with 23 points, while Kelsey Robinson was selected MVP of the game, scoring 16 points. Zhu Ting ended the game with 20 points.

Krystal Rivers had 14 points on the other side.

Our opponents were pretty good tonight. The match was difficult as I had expected. Allianz played very well. Our team have to learn also when they are not in perfect condition. Some players came back from Japan and at the same time we are preparing for the Club World Championship. We had a heavy workout in the gym two days ago. We have to expect this sometimes – not to be really fresh, really perfect. But it is our job to manage the match even when we are not fresh and perfect,” says Giovanni Guidetti, head coach of VakifBank ISTANBUL.

CSM Bucuresti have surprised the Polish team Chemik Police on the road, scoring the win in four sets.

Magdalena Stysiak scored 22 points for Chemik to become the best scorer of the match. Nadiia Kodola was C.S.M. BUCURESTI’s top point-maker, scoring a total of 18 times.

Paola Egonu was the player who scored 19 points to push her team Novara to the win over Budowlani Lodz.

The two Italian girls, Alice Nardo and Alessia Bolzonetti, were the youngest among the players of the game: they are just 15 and 16 years old, respectively, and joined the first team for the game because of Dutch spiker Celeste Plak’s injury.

Jovana Brakocevic Canzian was the top scorer in the Polish team.
