GOLDEN EL W: Finland score first win to escape last place in Pool C

Day 3 of the 2019 CEV Women’s Volleyball European Golden League has been concluded today with the match in Pool C between the home side of Azerbaijan and Finland.

Finland scored their premiere victory in the tournament by surpassing Azerbaijan on the road in Baku 3-1 (25-17, 25-16, 19-25, 25-22). Saara Hannele Esko top-scored for Finland with 22 points (4 aces) while Krista Michaela Bjerregård Madsen made as much as 8 kill blocks! In Azerbaijan, who are still winless in Pool C, Anastasiya Bezsonova scored 15 points.

By beating Austria in Pool B, yesterday, 3-0, Croatia remained one of the two teams with a perfect score. The other team is Belarus who defeated Spain in Pool C, also yesterday, in four sets.
