Serbia have the 3 out of 3 in the 2019 EuroVolley as they defeated France on day 4 in Pool A (Ankara, Turkey): 3-1 (25-19, 25-13, 25-27, 25-23).

France offered more resistance than expected to the world and European champions but it was mainly due to the decision Serbia head coach Terzić to rest Bošković, Mihajlović and Ognjenović in the third set. But, even with all the major players in the opening set, Serbia struggled against motivated rivals who had the 19-15 lead. That is when the titleholders showed the real face and made a 10-0 run that gave them the lead in sets of 1-0.

Brankica Mihajlović and Tijana Bošković top-scored for Serbia with 14 points apiece, notching them all in the first two sets. Maja Aleksić made 4 kill blocks. In France, who still have a chance to reach the eighth-finals, Lucille Gicquel put down 12 points.

Turkey

Turkey

Turkey are alive for the top spot in Pool A after staying unbeaten in their third match in the tournament. Just like Serbia, they secured a spot in the next stage.

The co-hosts downed winless Bulgaria in four sets and, as it seems, their last-round encounter against Serbia will decide on the top spot in the pool. On the other hand, despite having the balance of only one point, Bulgaria still have a chance of reaching the Top 16.

Turkey middle blocker Eda Erdem Dündar scored game-high 15 points (4 kill blocks), while libero Simge Şebnem Aköz made 70% positive reception. Gergana Dimitrova noted 10 points for Bulgaria.
